For any of you that know me, you'd know that I am a hopeless romantic. I am always trying to make 'normal' things special for Casey, while his romance consists of buying me appliances, changing my oil and washing my car! (Although I really am not complaining!)

And to answer - how did he do that? He drove 5 hours round trip on Thursday to get everything up to the hotel and the fabolous staff at the Perry Hotel made sure the champagne was chilled, flowers out and ring in place!
But on this Friday, he changed my whole idea of romance... Here's the story...Sorry it will probably be long...
On Friday at 1 pm I recieved a text message from Casey to pack clothes for us for the weekend, make sure we had dress clothes and be ready by 1:30 PM. So, I rushed home to get ready, all the while very confused, because I thought Casey had to work that night. Shortly after 1:30 he showed up, we loaded our stuff into the car and headed out. He wouldn't tell me where we were going, so I just enjoyed the ride. Surprise #1!
We drove and drove. Soon, we passed Clare, then Houghton Lake, then Gaylord and entered Petoskey. In Petoskey, is my favorite little hotel called the Perry Hotel. It's so quaint and has a beautiful view of Little Traverse Bay. Surprise #2!
So we pull into the parking lot and Casey pulls a brand new digital video camera from the back seat. Ta da, surprise #3!
So we start video taping our stay at the Perry. We check in at the front desk and head on up to the room via the elevator, all the while Casey is video taping... Many people would think something more is going on, but I was clueless, I just thought we were having a nice stay in Petoskey. (Of course, in the back of my mind, I thought this might be a perfect place to get engaged!) So I unlock the door, with the key (a real key, not a card!), and WOW - our room was so nice. Super high ceilings, huge bed and a fire place. Surprise #4!
So I'm looking around telling Casey how wonderful the room is, when he sort of pushes me to the left side of the room, where I see this...
At the sight of this, I am speechless, what I wanted to say was "How did you get 'my' ring here before we got here?" All that came out was a bunch of syllables though! When I looked up at Casey, all I could see was him smiling with tears in his eyes. With a shaky voice and even shakier hands, he says, "will you marry me?" to which I immediately said yes! Suprise #5! The best surprise ever!
The rest of our weekend was great, we ate well, shopped and had a lot of fun at the Noggin Room!

Now, comes the fun and work...Planning our WEDDING!
